General Frequently Asked Questions

1. What's your turn around time?

   Most jobs are done within a day. Some jobs are done in a few hours. It depends on how many tapes you give us. An estimated job time will be given upon your arrival.
   

2. What kind of tapes do you transfer?

   We transfer VHS, S-VHS, VHS-C, 8mm, HI8, Digital 8, Mini DV and Betamax.
   

3. How much does it cost?

   We charge $10 per tape. That's a bargain considering the big box stores charge $25 or more for the same service. PLUS, we even give additional discounts on large orders. Please call us for details.
   

4. How's the quality?

   We make direct copies of your precious memories. In other words, the quality and resolution will be the same as the original. The resolution will be 480i.
   

5. What format do you use?

   All our DVDs are burned using the ".VOB" format or "DVD format." This ensures that your DVD player will play it just like any other DVD.
   

6. Can I make copies of my DVDs for friends and family?

   Sure you can! You can even upload them on your computer, edit them (using editing software) and even upload them to youtube! The possibilites are endless!
   

7. I went to a big box store and they said they would ship my precious videos to a third party to get the transfer done. Do you guys do that too?

   Negative! ALL our work is done in house. Don't risk having your memories shipped to who knows where!
   

8. Where are you located?

   We are centrally located in National City in San Diego County right off Interstate 5 and Civic Center Dr. Please click on the "location" link for more info.
   

9. Do you offer any editing services?

   Unfortunately we do not offer such service at this time. We only transfer videos to DVD.
   

10. What if I want additional copies of my DVDs?

    We can help you do that too! We charge $5 for each additional copy.
    

11. I have a camcorder that uses a hard drive or a HDD camcorder. Can you transfer the video to DVD?

    Yes we can. Please call us for details and pricing.
    

12. Can I edit my videos once they are on DVD?

    Yes of course you can! There is a variety of video editing software you can use to edit your precious memories.
    

13. Will I get my original tapes back?

    Yes, your original tapes will be given back.
    

14. I have a lot of tapes. Do you offer a discount for large orders?

    Yes, we offer discounts on larger orders. Please call for details.
    

15. Do you do mail orders?

    Yes, we do mail orders all the time. Please call us for details and pricing.
    

16. Do you have any references?

17. How many videos/hours can fit on one DVD?

    We can fit up to 6 hours of video on one DVD and as many videos as you wish BUT it is recommended to not go over 2.5 hours because of the drastic loss in video quality.
    

18. Do you create chapters on the DVD?

    Yes, we provide chapters approx. every 5 minutes so you can skip ahead with ease.
    

19. Do you create a label?

    We label the jewel case with any title of your choice. We do NOT label the disc itself BUT the menu structure will be labeled.
    

20. Do you transfer video from reels?

    Unfortunately we do not provide that service at this time.
    

21. Do you transfer to USB drives and Hard Drives?

    Yes we do! Call us for details.
